IMPROVING ANIMALS HEALTH

The use of Microalgae in animal feed is a subject of a lot of research. Also, additional research gives a good indication of the functionality of algae in animal feed, such as research on Chlorella affecting the immune system. The in-vitro study performed by the Wageningen UR indicates the effect on the immune system of Chlorella.

Also, a research project of Phycom done by the Wageningen UR shows the effect in poultry feed (results published once public).

It is proven that adding just 0.8% of microalgae to feed the animal’s health improves. So, by including algae as a powerful additive, animals need fewer antibiotics. Considering that 80% of antibiotics produced worldwide feeds animals we eat, you will see the importance of antibiotic reduction, countering the looming problem of antibiotic resistance in people.
